Trends in Information Literacy

Abstract

This paper gives guidelines towards producing information literate persons by tracing the origin of information literacy, the attributes of the information literate person, the importance of information literacy, training opportunities available and some developments in the field. It makes a suggestion for inclusion of information literacy into the curricular of all categories of educational institutions right from the basic school to the university level.
